Program Notes
A Sketch of Monochrome was written during one of the coldest winters recorded in the southern U.S. The work is in homage to the mysterious beauty found in the subtle shifting grayscale of the winter sky.
This work was commissioned and premiered by Trumpeter Adam Hayes and Pianist Dr. Kris Carlisle on a joint faculty recital at Berry College in April of 2010.
